Letter From Santa ("we," "us") sends personalized letters from Santa. To do that, we need a few details about the children who receive them. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.

Who our site is for

Our website and services are for parents, grandparents and other adults ordering for a child. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, and children should not place orders or use our chat. If you believe a child has given us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

Information you give us about the child

When you order, you provide information about the child who will receive the letter package:

• First and last name
• Mailing address
• The city and state or country where the child will be on Christmas Eve
• A best friend's first name (optional)
• The child's birthday month and day (only if you order a Birthday Card)

We use this information only to write, print, check and mail the letter, Nice List, route map and any extras you ordered. We do not use children's information for marketing, we do not build profiles of children, and we never sell or rent it.

Information about you

When you buy from us, we collect your name, email address, billing and shipping address, phone number (if provided) and order details. Payment card details are processed by Shopify and its payment processors; we never see or store your full card number. We use this information to process your order, send receipts and order updates, answer questions, prevent fraud and meet legal and tax obligations. If you choose to receive marketing emails, we use your email for that and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Chat and support

Our website chat is provided by Shopify Inbox and may be answered by an AI assistant operated by Shopify, or by us. Messages you send through chat, and information about your visit (such as pages viewed and items in your cart), are processed by Shopify to provide the chat service. Please do not share sensitive information, such as payment details, in chat. AI responses can be inaccurate; for anything important, ask to speak with us.

Cookies and site data

Our store runs on Shopify, which uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, keep checkout secure and measure how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings and our cookie banner where it appears.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers that help us fulfill your order:

• Shopify, which hosts our store, processes payments and provides our chat. Shopify's handling of data is described in its own privacy policy at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
• Printing and mailing partners, who receive the child's name, address and letter details only to print and mail your order.
• The United States Postal Service, which delivers the mail. Letters ordered for the official North Pole postmark are sent in sealed, addressed envelopes to the Postal Service's North Pole postmark program, which applies the postmark and mails them to the child.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, our customers or others.

How long we keep it

We keep children's names, addresses and letter details only as long as needed to fulfill and support your order. We delete them by January 31 after the holiday season they were ordered for, except for Birthday Card orders, whose details we keep until that card has been mailed. Order and payment records about the adult purchaser are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you or about a child you ordered for. If a letter has already been printed or mailed, we can still delete our stored copy. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws; we will honor those requests as the law requires. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Security

We use Shopify's secure platform and limit access to order information to the people and partners who need it to fulfill orders. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
