FAQ

When do I need to order?

By December 1 for the official North Pole postmark. By December 12 for delivery before Christmas without the North Pole postmark. The order form tells you which one your letter will get.

What's in each package?

A personal letter from Santa, Santa's Official Nice List with your child's name, and a map of Santa's Christmas Eve route to their town, all mailed together in one envelope.

Is there a discount for more than one child?

Yes. Order 2 or more letter packages and you save $2 on every one. The discount is applied automatically in your cart, and it works for children at different addresses too.

Can I read the letter before I order?

Yes. Every story shows in full on the order page, with your child's name, town and friend filled in as you type.

What is the official North Pole postmark?

It's a special holiday postmark applied by the U.S. Postal Service through its Letters from Santa program. We send your child's stamped package to the program, and postal workers mark the envelope with the North Pole postmark before mailing it on.

Why is there a separate postmark cutoff?

The Postal Service needs letters to reach the program in early December. We send our final batch right after December 1, so we need your order by then.

How much is shipping?

Postage is included in the price of every letter package, postcard and birthday card.

Can I order a postcard or birthday card on its own?

Postcards and birthday cards are add-ons to a letter package. Add them on the order form while you write your child's letter, so we know who they're for and where to mail them.

Can I send letters to children at different addresses?

Yes. Each letter has its own mailing address, so you can send letters to grandchildren, nieces and nephews anywhere in the US in one order.

What if the child will be somewhere else on Christmas Eve?

Uncheck "The child will be home on Christmas Eve" and enter where they'll be. Santa mentions that place in the letter and the route map, and we still mail it to their home address.

I made a typo. Can I fix it?

Yes, as long as the letter hasn't been printed. Reply to your order confirmation email with the correction and we'll update it.

What do you do with my child's information?

We use it only to write, print and mail your letters. We don't sell it or use it for marketing.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Not at this time. Letters can only be mailed to US addresses, including APO/FPO military addresses. Santa can still mention any Christmas Eve location in the world, so a child visiting family abroad can get a letter that mentions where they'll be.
